Here are some characteristics of an effective teacher.

Set positive expectations
Setting positive expectations to your students is a very important factor to their success. As a teacher, you should let your students believe that they are capable to excel. This is also a good motivation for them.

Enthusiastic
One of the ways to capture the interest of the students is through enthusiasm. If the students have seen that you are really enthusiastic with what you are doing, they will be interested in the discussion and other class activities. The way you speak, your gestures, and eye contact to students really matter.

Effective classroom manager
It is important for a teacher to have an effective classroom management. Proper way of handling and disciplining the class ensures that classroom lessons run smoothly and prevents disruptive behavior. This is possibly the most difficult aspect of teaching. Once a teacher loses control of his classroom, it is really more difficult to regain that control. It is imperative for a teacher therefore to create a positive classroom environment with mutual respect.

Have the ability to design lessons and activities
Content mastery, designing and implementing the lessons in the classroom are very important skills for an effective teacher. Possessing such skills helps a teacher achieve his objectives for the class.

Establishes rapport with students
It is highly important to develop a trusting environment between the teacher and the students. Once the teacher has able to form a trusting bond with the students, it is easy for the former to gain cooperation, motivation, and respect from the latter (marked by harmony, conformity, accord, or affinity).

My professor once told the class that there is no perfect formula nor strategy in teaching, you can only say you are doing well when the message you are trying to convey was accepted and understood by the receiver.

orhem your post reminds me of how powerful teachers are and the huge responsibility bestowed upon them. ingun sad sa ako professor sa CNU hay sige lang naku siya i quote without mentioning her name "if mamatay ang teachers for sure langit diretsu sa kadaghan sa mga kinabuhi nga iya na touch for sure sangko sa langit" hehehe

Thanks for sharing this admin. I think there is no really right formula to be a perfect teacher. For me, one of the characteristics of a teacher must have is the passion for teaching. A good way of communicating students is also important.
